- As a child, Sasori always seemed sad, due to the lack of parental love. When introduced to the art of puppetry by his grandmother, Chiyo, he grew a little happier. He eventually created puppets with the likeness of his parents, but when the puppets couldn't give him the parental love he desired, he became cold and aloof. This led to him having little regard for human life, and he went so far to state that he would feel nothing if Chiyo died, as he claimed that his heart had become like his puppet body: without any emotions. Despite his cruelty, Sasori also had been shown to possess a very down-to-earth outlook on life, rarely growing worked up over obstacles that came his way. He also rarely showed any extreme emotions, and even these instances were short-lived.
Sasori was also known for his impatience, as he repeatedly noted that he did not wish to wait or keep others waiting,[6] which was quite ironic since he had all the time in the world due to his puppet body.
Sasori and his second partner in Akatsuki, Deidara, both had conflicting views of art, and they frequently argued about their different views.[7] Deidara maintained the opinion that art was something transient that departs quickly, where as Sasori believed that fine art is something wonderful that is left long into the future. This reflected their individual natures; Deidara made clay sculptures which exploded, while Sasori created long-lasting puppets out of humans. Nevertheless, Deidara outwardly seemed to respect Sasori's beliefs, although Sasori never respected Deidara's.
Sasori's ambition was to become art by becoming a puppet, because he thought art is something wonderful that is left long into the future. He abandoned this ambition when Kankurō told him that it was his creations that he put his heart and soul into that would last forever. After accepting Kankurō's view on eternal art, he entrusted his Mother and Father puppets to Kankurō, and told him to pass them on to the next generation when he dies. In this moment, he is shown to have an emotional side as well.
Also worthy of note is that he was willing to accept other people's views on certain topics, unlike Deidara, who stubbornly stood by his beliefs.

Description:Chakra Threads is a technique that is usually used by puppet users to allow them to control their puppets in battle. Interestingly, as well as pulling objects towards them with the strings, the user can also "push" objects away from them as well, and even get moving objects like buzzsaws.[2] Chakra can also be transfered via the strings, such as to activate some abilities in puppets.[3] These means that the chakra strings can also be attached to other objects, allowing the user to control, or at the very least disrupt, other things. In one instance, Kankurō uses chakra strings to trip Naruto Uzumaki when they first meet. In another, Chiyo uses chakra strings to control a person like a puppet. The strings can be made invisible, as Chiyo did with the Manipulating Attack Blades to sneak a string to bind Hiruko's iron tail. This technique is limited to one string per finger for normal humans, but Sasori's modified heart was able to emit enough strings to control over one hundred puppets.

Description: technique developed by Sasori, this allows him to create puppets from human corpses. As Sasori was the only person to know how to create human puppets, this technique became lost when he died. Sasori developed this during his time in Sunagakure.
By removing the internal organs of a foe and preserving the body to prevent decomposition, as well as adding weapons and defences, Sasori can make powerful human puppets. These puppets are different from normal ones, as they retain their use of chakra and any kekkei genkai that the human host once had.

Description:The Puppet Technique is a unique ninjutsu fighting style; this jutsu uses threads of chakra to control puppets like marionettes. Any number of chakra threads can be used to control a puppet, but users with more skill can use fewer strings per puppet. Both Chiyo and Sasori demonstrated the ability to control entire puppets perfectly using just one thread. While most puppeteers (傀儡使い, kugutsutsukai) would normally be able to control ten puppets at most (one per finger), Sasori's self-modification allowed him to control up to one hundred puppets at a time.
The technique has few weaknesses: according to Shino Aburame's observations during his fight against Kankurō, the Puppet Technique is a long range style, meaning that the puppeteers are weak against close range fighters. Since most puppeteer use his or her hands to manipulate the puppets, if their hands are disabled, then the technique can be neutralized. And because the puppet's movements are based on the mechanisms that were installed inside, interfering with said mechanisms can greatly stall the puppet entirely.
This was demonstrated by Shino during his fight against Kankurō, where he used his bugs to infiltrate Karasu's joints, rendering the puppet immobile. And then again by Sasori, who used the Third Kazekage's Iron Sand to stall Chiyo's mechanical Chakra shields. Also, while controlling the puppet, the user is wide open if the opponent bypasses the puppet. For this reason, puppeteers avoid hand to hand battle, relying almost exclusively on their puppets instead.
Sasori has managed to create innovative methods that can bypass such weaknesses, such as Hiruko, which is worn like a disguise, serving as armour and defending himself from attacks, and converting himself into a puppet, he can fight at close range without worrying about leaving himself wide open for a counter attack.

Description:To begin this jutsu, Sasori removes one summoning scroll from his back. He then opens his right chest compartment to emit more than a hundred chakra strings, which reach into the scroll. From the scroll, more than a hundred puppets wearing red cloaks emerge.
As even the most elite of puppeteers cannot control more than ten puppets a time (one per finger), this technique is proof of Sasori's superiority with regard to the Puppet Technique. Also, normally a puppet's movement is dependent on the will of the user, and as such there will be a time lag between the user's commands and the puppet's response. However, since these hundred puppets are directly connected to Sasori's core, there is no time lag between Sasori's will and the puppets' movements.
Sasori claimed that he had brought down an entire country with this jutsu. Many of the puppets, however, were destroyed during Sasori's battle with Chiyo and Sakura Haruno, although they did manage to destroy some of Chiyo's puppets. While these one hundred puppets lacked teamwork, they apparently used sheer attrition and numbers to overwhelm their opponents. Even when they decrease in numbers they do not become less dangerous as it merely allows Sasori to focus more on the remaining puppets.
As with all of Sasori's puppets, all the weapons wielded are coated in his special poison, which would kill the victims after three days of painful paralysis.

Description:A puppet performance technique where chakra threads are attached to various spots on a person's body; the head, torso, both arms, and both legs. The person being manipulated gains the ability to not only use their own techniques, but the skills of the puppeteer as well.
The origins of this technique lie on the battlefield. When a puppet user's puppets were all destroyed, they would begin using corpses. To perform this technique with a living person would normally require both parties to cooperate with each other. However, a highly skilled user can control the target by force if the person is severely weakened or damaged rendering them unable to resist.

Description:The Sand Clone is different from the other types of bunshinjutsu in that the sand does not completely assume the form of the user, but remains as sand the entire time. That is to say, the clone's form can be changed instantly into sand, and the enemy's body can be trapped. Its many applications with long-range attacks can have it act as a lure and a decoy. This is where it draws the line with other clones.

Description:From the Third Kazekage puppet's left arm opens several compartments. These compartments are prepared with summoning seals in them, which calls forth a large number of long puppet arms that can bend and follow the opponent, then crush them with devastating force. The arms are modified with launchers, which can emit poison gas, binding wires with a kunai-anchor, or regular kunai.
Sasori can detach the entire left arm (with the thousand arms) to regain mobility for the puppet, and a buzzsaw takes its place.

Description:
This gunshot-like attack uses Iron Sand, hardened into microscopic grains, to attack simultaneously across a vast range. The bullets are so fast, they're difficult to see. From the moment the user has finished preparing the attack, evading it becomes extremely difficult. Using the repellent force of magnetism, the speed of the bullets is rapidly increased after they are shot. Furthermore, the user can also use an attack pattern where the Iron Sand bullets are shaped into sharp needles, increasing their ability to wound or kill the enemy. Since the Iron Sand carries magnetic force and is also drenched in poison, defending against this technique is almost impossible. This technique is especially threatening to puppet users, since the puppets can be made completely unable to fight, if the sand gets lodged into their joints.

Description:This technique gathers a great volume of Iron Sand and compresses it into a high-density shape. This greatly increases the hardness, creating a gigantic steel-like weapon in an instant. The weight and size of these shapes are so great, they can easily shatter bedrock and break through most defences with one hit.
Because the weapon is made out of Iron Sand, the shape can be whatever the user wants, and can even be changed during the fight. This allows the user to create the best weapon for the fight, by taking into account the opponent's abilities and the surrounding environment. Since the Iron Sand generates a strong magnetic field, the opponent cannot use any metal weapons or tools.
Two shapes have been shown:
■The Giant Spear (巨大槍, Kyodaisō): by forming the Iron Sand into a triangular, spindle-shaped object (much like a pyramid) and tapering it into a sharp point at one end, the user creates a giant spear. The pyramid can also spin like a giant top.
■The Giant Hammer (巨大鉄槌, Kyodai Tettsui): by forming the Iron Sand into a large rectangular shape, the area of contact is increased greatly, creating a giant, hard-to-evade hammer.

Description:This jutsu uses Iron Sand to create a gigantic sphere of branching spikes. The user creates two masses of Iron Sand with opposite polarities and then merges them together. This causes the magnetic forces to instantly increase and the repellent force created by the two opposing magnetic fields scatters the Iron Sand across a vast area.
The Iron Sand spreads in spikes that branch off irregularly, making it almost impossible to get a clear overview of what is happening. This also makes evading the spikes nearly impossible. Even if the opponent has managed to evade getting hit, the Iron Sand spikes will have filled the entire surroundings, cutting off any escape routes. With the opponent trapped, the user is free to attack in person.

Description:A clone that is created by altering the user's own cells with chakra. It has more endurance than the normal Shadow Clones and doesn't disappear when hit by the enemies' attacks. Moreover, since it has the ability to merge with plants and trees, it is also great for reconnaissance missions. They have the ability to travel far distances from the user and are able to communicate with the original. The clones can be as simple in function as a wooden dummy for use in the Body Replacement Technique. The basic concept of the Shadow Clone Technique also applies to the Wood Clone Technique. However, the chakra-composed Shadow Clone and the cell-based Wood Clone are completely distinct techniques. By directly touching the Wood Clone with his hand, the user can absorb the information it gathered and changes the shape of the clone.

This is a considerably advanced ninjutsu, and activating this technique requires a fair amount of chakra.

If the technique is used by someone who has mastered wind nature transformation, the blast can hit a vast range, inflicting massive damage on both the target and their surroundings.

Description:Black Ant (黒蟻, Kuroari) is a puppet, originally created by Sasori, but was passed onto Kankurō. It has a much longer head than Crow with a bucket-shaped face sporting two sharp red horns and six arms; its facial features include three eyes similar to Crow, with a dark dishevelled hairstyle. Its overall body-frame somewhat resembles a large barrel.
Like Crow, Black Ant is able to detach any of its body parts for separate attacks. Black Ant's primary function is to capture opponents thus it does not contain as many hidden weapons as Crow, as each of its arm segments only contains a saw blade. When used in tandem with Crow, it can have devastating results.

Crow (烏, Karasu) is a puppet, originally created by Sasori, but passed onto Kankurō. It resembles a three-eyed, four-armed humanoid with jagged teeth and spiky brown hairstyle protruding from the top of its head and framing the sides. In Part I, Kankurō typically keeps Crow wrapped in bandages on his back, and he is able to switch places with it at will using the Body Replacement Technique. Because of Kankurō's enjoyment in installing mechanisms into his puppets, Crow is very offensive, having numerous concealed weapons.
One of Crow's specialties is working with Black Ant to use techniques such as Black Secret Technique Machine One Shot and Poison Mist Hell: Hundred Continuous Hell. Crow was destroyed by Sasori when Kankurō fought against him after Gaara's capture early in Part II and has since been repaired along with Black Ant and Salamander.

Description:
Hiruko (ヒルコ, Hiruko) is a puppet used by the Akatsuki ninja, Sasori. As a puppet, he served as Sasori's "puppet armour", as Sasori was capable of hiding inside of it. Sasori even adorned Hiruko with the Akatsuki's robes, and hid inside it so often that others came to recognize him only when he was wearing it.

Description:Scorpion was the puppet body of Sasori when he was alive. When he inhabited it, it contained his heart in the left compartment on its chest and in the right side of his chest compartment was a mechanism that could spun numerous chakra threads, which allowed Sasori to use his Red Secret Technique: Performance of a Hundred Puppets.
Its stomach contained a thick cable coiled around a pole, allowing the puppeteer to use it as a stinger and retract it if necessary. Attached to its back was a scroll holder, containing four scrolls that seem to serve as "ammunition", one of which Sasori used to store his puppets. Scorpion also has a pair of poles to the back of its hips, each equipped with five large blades that could spin like a propeller, and pipes to each of his hands that could spew out intense fire or powerful jets of water

Description:Salamander (山椒魚, Sanshōuo) is a puppet, originally created by Sasori, but passed onto Kankurō. Unlike Kankurō's other puppets, Salamander stays true to its name and resembles a salamander. Salamander is a puppet that has high defensive power. It has a frill that swings up to defend against attacks from the front as well as the tail being able to tuck up to reach the frill and guard the rear followed by an iron cloak immediately covering all sides, and a hollow body Kankurō and up to two other people can take cover in to defend against attacks coming from other directions. Unfortunately, its weak point is the side joint of the frill, which when struck will knock the shield off, rendering it defenceless. Kankurō later repaired it after it was dismantled by Sasori. During the battle of the ambush squads it was used to trap Shin, but was blown apart from one of Deidara's clay bombs that was inside Shin's stomach, though it did smother the explosion.

Ability:Over the years, Chiyo made several modifications to the puppets, such as adding weapons, so that they could be used in battle. Both have a chakra shield installed in their arms, as well as steel wires that they link together with their fingers for cutting. The Mother puppet wields a serrated katana, while the Father puppet wields a segmented wooden whip covered with kunai .
Description:"Mother" (母, Haha) and "Father" (父, Chichi) were the first two puppets Sasori ever created. They were made to resemble his real mother and father, after they were killed while away at war by Sakumo Hatake. He made them in the hopes that doing so would help him feel loved. Because they were still only puppets, this failed, and Sasori lost interest in the two and left them behind when he left Sunagakure. With his departure, the puppets came into the possession of Chiyo.

Ability:While alive, the Kazekage was hailed the strongest in the village's history, and Sasori claimed that he had trouble killing him. The Kazekage possessed the unique ability to convert chakra into magnetic forces. With his research of Shukaku's powers, he crafted his own version of "sand-manipulation", the Iron Sand, by combining his magnetic force control with iron powder; this was the main reason why he was considered the strongest Kazekage there is. His magnetic control also granted him immunity from all metallic weapons, as well as the ability to nullify opposing puppets by clogging their joints with sand.

- Kunai launcher: In the Nidaime's right hand is a quick firing kunai launcher. it is able to fire 100 kunai a minute. There is a seal placed inside the Nidaime that stores up to five thousand kunai. Each kunai is dipped in poison.
- Smoke screen: The Nidiame has a seal on the inside its mouth containing a large number of smoke bombs. Activating this sasori can open the puppets mouth to release a large smoke screen to hide himself and his puppet.
